Okay quick update
Had Snoo's bday, was good when we met up at mine. I got lots of dvds and blu-rays.
Then went to a friend's wedding. Was very nice.
Tomorrow me and Snoo off to Crawley for circus convention.
Right up to speed? Good. As some of you know I was moaning about being all alone up here after not being invited to a gig along with some of the guys from work. The point was not being invited, as I wasn't expecting to be. However just made me realise that I'm not really friends with anyone up here. HOWEVER... today I did get the invite and it was less an invite but a comment like I was always invited and if I'd got a ticket yet. So maybe I am one of the guys already?
Well thats it for now :-) I'll finish my dinner now!

So on Friday I woke up with a bunged up head that I contributed to some rather severe hayfever. However it didn't go away and I have now decided as off 3am this morning when I couldn't sleep that I have a mancold. Being ill is no fun when theres noone to look after you, and I would be ill the first time for ages on a weekend!
Anyway I've been watching films, using up toilet roll and feeling sorry for myself. Been going through all my films and I'm running out. I got the Star Wars saga left and a handful of others too.
Also got Crisis Core on the PSP, thats great! But can't play it for long as got an annoying bunged up head.
Of those who read my last post and didn't know it was 'Blog like the end of the world'. So it didn't rain loads and I didn't steal a car and die on the road. Ironically that was the same day I had my appraisel at work which coincided with my 3 month probation end of, which I passed! So I'm permanent now :-D
Finally Snoo hasn't mentioned yet but shes got an interview for the job up here next thursday! So yay! I'll be seeing her on wednesday then after that were heading off to Ipswich for her friend's bday camping adventure extraordinaire!!

11.16am Its been raining constantly now for what I'm guessing is about 11 hours. Its torrential horrendous downpour that makes it look like a river running down the street, and the sky. Its a purple/red colour as well as being dark from the storm clouds.
Let me back up a bit. It started raining about 11pm last night. Nothing looked out of the ordinary then mainly as I'd been in the city then. Last night I packed and got ready for my trip to Norwich. This morning was normal too, except the rain. I had to wrap up in my thick coat against it and still got soaked. The walk in didn't seem out of the ordinary but now I think about it there wasn't as many people wandering about and not as many cars on the roads.
Got into work and thought nothing of it. But now there is still only a handful of people in the office and no one seems to know where anyone else is. We all thought maybe flooding from the rain. This is where things get wierd, checking BBC site they haven't updated it since last night and the weather is supposed to be 25 degrees, clear and sunny. Somethings not right.
12.38pm No one else has turned up yet. No news has been updated and the rain is still pouring. The sky is unnerving me. A deep swirling purple/red that shows through the darkness of the storm clouds. Whats worrying me more is that I haven't had the morning email from Snoo. She could be busy, but that sky.
13.56pm Some of the people here have been trying to ring their families, and not receiving any answers. All the phones and equipment work but no one is picking up. This has led to the decision of many to go home. The sky has gotten darker. Its like pitch black night out there but its midday. There is no light other than a slight glow in the sky.
14.45pm We all left the office. I've only just got home again and barracaded the door. Theres something out there in the rain and the fake night. Its taken longer than normal due to areas on my normal route have been flooded. I can't be sure but I could've seen something in the dark, something I couldn't recognise.
15.27pm I can hear something outside. Its an indiscribeable squealing type noise and what I'm sure is screaming. I've sealed all the windows and doors and barricaded them. Where is everyone?!
16.28pm Its suddenly become lighter again. The rain has stopped but the sky is still purple, I've decided to leave the city. Theres nothing here. Looking outside is alot of water and what I can theres a car with the door open and engine running. I can still hear something but decided to go for it. I've collected what food and drink I have and make a run for the car. The plan is to get as far as I can. I've not gotten through to Snoo or my Parents. Theres no reason for me to stay. I just hope I can make it. If there isn't an update after this, then.... I have no choice, theres no reason to stay. Theres no reason to stay.

So ordered my new computer, got it from eBuyer in the end as OCUK were being lamers and not accepting it. So screw them they can suck my sweaty ball sack and it was all slightly cheaper on eBuyer anyway.
AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ (3.2 GHz) ASUS Crosshair SKT AM2 nForce 590 Thermaltake Kandalf VA9000BWS Black Full Tower XFX 9600GT 512MB GDDR3 650MHz Corsair 4GB Kit (2x2GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 Maxtor 500GB Hard Drive SATAII 7200rpm *32MB Cache* Pioneer DVR-215DBK 20X SATA Corsair TX 750W PSU Logitech MX 5500 Revolution Bluetooth Wireless Desktop Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium
So thats my kit, got some sata cables coming too. Hopefully not missed anything, only bit I'm unsure about is whether the case has any fans in it already. But they aren't too much.
But in total £826.30 not too bad and due to arrive on tuesday.

Yup, I get home from work and its bitten the dust. Does no longer even boot. Upon poking about with it I have completely decided that its the motherboard, as theres power getting to it and everything else was working fine.
This therefore means that I need a new one. Soon. BOLLOCKS!!! I'M TRYING TO SAVE FOR A FUCKING CAR DAMMIT!!!
Whats even more piss annoying is that to do it I'll have to wait till end of the month till I'm paid or transfer money from savings (I'm likely to do the latter anyway) but I can't do that till then because of Alliance & Leicester being lame and giving me an account that I can do sod all with on the net.
This will undoubtably piss me off quite thouroghly for the rest of the week. Right now I'm on my PS3 with keyboard and mouse plugged into it. Least that works.....
*EDIT* Never taking no for an answer I kept trying to turn this expensive paper weight on... and managed it!! So now I won't be turning it off again! Not until I get the new one. Even if it crash/hangs (which its been doing too) I can just reboot it and it'll still remain on.

So this weekend was great. Headed to Norwich to see Snoo, via a 10 hour round trip. The trip was an adventure in itself! From finishing work at 5 on Friday I headed to the train station. Got one to Birmingham New St, then ran to the next station and jumped on one heading for Ely. When I got there had a half hour wait for the train to Norwich. Finally arriving at 10.30.
Once I get to Norwich met up with Snoo, had pizza and watched some shows. Then fell asleep as it was 11.30!!
We met up with my Bro, Sis and Paula in the city on Saturday and wandering about with them. We then went to see Nim's Island, which was very cute.
Sunday was another chilled day and then finally headed home. This route was a little more interesting. Leaving Norwich about 4, headed to Nottingham, from there jumped onto one to Birmingham and then finally back to Wolverhampton arriving about 9.30!
So get home and things are fine until my comp won't turn on monday morning. Did manage to get it on and checking properly a little this morning ruled out the easy cheap solution. Its not the power button connection. Other things to check will be power connections into the motherboard. However if its not then the power supply has a problem, or the motherboard is screwed. Either way theres no point replacing them as I need a new computer anyway.
So last night had a look at what I could get:
Deathscythe MkIII
Asus Crosshair nForce 590 SLi (Socket AM2) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6400+ 3.20GHz (Socket AM2) - Retail Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 PC2-6400C5 TwinX (2x2GB) 2 x Maxtor Diamondmax 22 500GB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (STM3500320AS) Corsair TX 750W ATX2.2 SLI Compliant PSU Thermaltake VA9003BWS Kandalf Full Tower - Black Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro PWM CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2) Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound (3.5g) Gainward GeForce 9600 GT "Golden Sample" 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort (PCI-Express) - Retail (9115) 2 x Pioneer DVR-215DBK 20x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter (Black) - OEM 4 x Akasa SATA-2 60cm Silver Data Cable Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution
TOTAL = £912.77
Tasty! But I'll prolly have to trim it down a bit... I'm never gonna get a car!!

Okay so I built up the ridges and painted it black, so its now really quite soggy so will have to take the rest of the day to dry. But so far I'm happy with how its going!

The plan next will be to paint it up obviously and to super glue it to the glove. This is so that it will be one fixed 'thing' so I won't have to worry about it. The other thing is to put pointy nails in the ends of the fingers.
Think its going well :-)

So I survived another week, and it seems is about a month since i started. Going well too! I'm enjoying it!
Today saw the end of my first conversion project, stayed a little late today to finish off some stuff with it as we spent too long trying to find a crash. Which turned out to be the terminal being lame and us playing with it too much. But thats now pretty much sorted.
Monday means a new project, a conversion onto a brand new machine... which will be... interesting.
This weekend I'll be on my lonesome and no Snoo as she has a party to go to in Norwich. So I'll start a new SIMPLE 2D project that I have dubbed SWARM. Won't say anymore than that as knowing me won't get that far. But will hopefully be nice and easy to keep me sane in the long evenings and weekends alone.
Next weekend I will see teh Snoo as its our 6 month anniversary! It's gone quick, so much has happened! But that means I'll need to find somewhere nice in the city here to eat out at :)
So good times now and good times ahead! Things are looking up! :-D

So i've moved into my new place in Wolverhampton, Its nice :)
It's a 2 bedroom end of terrace (kinda semi-detached), I've got a small room again but its bigger than the one I had at uni as the wardrobe space is extra on the room rather than eating into it by the stairs.
I have a lovely view of some electricity pylons too ;)
The sort of comes with that I do have my computer back with me, but the net here is temperamental right now. Connecting to the wireless router but connection lasts only a couple of minutes maximum. Not just my computer either, housemate/landlord/colleagues does it too, as well as my PS3 which normally isn't fazed in the slightest. So anyone with some theories on how to fix are welcome (its a belkin router >_<).
Anyway, job is going alright so far too. Got a project to do which is keeping me busy :) oh and the beautiful thing of NOT having a 2 hour commute is ace. I know have a 10 minute walk!!
I now have to time the connection right to post this ;)
/***********************Update/missed mentions***********************/
Totally forgot to mention that this weekend saw the first meeting of Snoo's parents and grandparents!! (Sorry for not mentioning it earlier Snoo :S)
But yeah, was off to Worcester train station where she picked me up and drove back to her house (which is nearer Evesham and Cheltenham) going past the Lea Perrins factory! lol! Met her parents and promptly said "oh my god" to them about something (they are quite christian) so blaspheming already! woo!
But I chilled out a bit more from there, stayed in her brother's room. Which was already filled with my stuff she collected from me the week before so I can have it here with me now! :-D
So we visited her grandparents, who both lived near the village, went to the pub and I partook in their more local cider, which was very nice ;) and went for a visit to both evesham and cheltenham.
Hopefully I warmed to them by the time we left, well I did feel more relaxed last day or two. We then came back to here bringing said stuff and chilled while I put it together, or rather she got bored while I was being neurotic :P

Okay so not updated for ages, been busy going on interviews and the like. Also I couldn't be bothered!
But today was the 2nd interview/trial day for the company in Wolverhampton, Games Media. Up at 4:30 to get there for 10 was... interesting! But was a good day.
It was me looking at what they do and looking over the shoulder of the other junior guy there. I was understanding the code and pointing out ideas etc for bug finding.
Then chatting to my boss guy, he asked about what the time scale would be for starting and I was mainly worried about a place to stay (that commute is a bitch!). He went off to chat to his boss and a little while later came back and they are now putting me up for two weeks in the hotel down the road while I find a more permanent place so i can start on Monday!!!
So I am now a Junior Game Programmer! w00t!!
I am now however absolutely shattered as I just got home!!

Okay so after I left here for Norwich on thursday I got another two interviews. One in Newark-on-Trent and a phone interview for a place in Bristol. Also am getting agencies interest for Jagex again, so doing the programming test and also having one talk to them about a content job again (deja vu right there!)
However the weekend with Snoo was awesome! Co&Ca ruled (doing a proper review on last.fm when I have time), met up briefly with Hazel, we saw Sweeney Todd (a bit meh) and went ice-skating. Snoo on ice... very funny!! ;P
Other than that went all too quickly. But gonna organise her to come here next weekend, once I've stopped panicing about the interview tomorrow and the 7 hour round trip for travel to get there and back.
Anyway, thats all for now!!

The other day I applied for loads, shit loads of positions. All over the country. Mainly c/c++ programming roles but not just games companies. Since then I've been inundated with calls from eager recruiters wanting to market my 'skills'.
So right now I've been packaged up and presented in front of various companies in Bristol, Nottinghamshire and Oxford. But the gold goes to a company in Wolverhampton that I have an interview with as of now on Monday!! I only sent them my code to look at this morning!!
So yes, up past Birmingham I go :), gives me some hope that there are people interested out there.

Well I've been insanely busy over Xmas. At work for long days and off to visit Snoo when I can.
So an update of what I've done:
Games Bought Silent Hill: Origins and Sonic Rivals 2 for PSP and The Orange Box for PS3. They are all ace, portal was brilliant. Although SH is annoying me atm, I'm proud that I'm playing it without freaking out to much. But wandering around the town after the Hospital is pissing me off! Travis can't run, so avoiding monsters is impossible, weapons break and never last as long as you'd think! Finally enemies deal alot of damage and leave you with no real way to block/dodge/counter (mainly as travis doesn't move any faster than amble)
Films Saw I Am Legend with Snoo yesterday (for the record - Ade you rule!). I liked it and didn't like it at the same time. Bought far too much in Norwich on monday as well! Bleach Series 1 part 1, Band of Brothers and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. Also Snoo got me Firefly for xmas :D
Other Stuff Saw Snoo for new years and helped her move into her new place, which is really nice and chatted to her new housemates. Gonna be finshing at Game soon (10th is my last day) so have the fun of finding a job again sigh.
Finally I'd just like to say that even tho I'm facing unemployment (again) I'm still happy, it's wierd...

I think i may be insane... working at Game atm is just really busy. Customers are morons too! They know nothing about what they're asking for! And they don't understand rating systems either, and the media has the audacity to blame the industry for 8 year olds playing GTA or something >_<
Oh well.
I got Xmas eve and day off. Working boxing day (triple pay ;))
Then off to see the gorgeous Snoo for New Year's :D

Today was spent chilling with her, playing games watching House and went to my bro's. Was awesome just to spend time with her again, like I said last week been seeing her every week except last one since we started dating :)
Off to hers next weekend as have it off! The plan is to see Golden Compass and go to the Waffle House!

Was a good weekend! My surprise for Snoo was me! :D I got the car from my dad on saturday and drove from work to Norwich to see her ;) I ring the bell, she answers, sees me. I get a big hug and "what you doing here?" said through a big grin :D
So we chilled out saturday night (I arrived about 9) and on Sunday we went to the garden and pet centre to look at the bunnies and hamsters... just because lol. We then, on a spur of the moment thing, decided to go see Beowolf at the Odeon.
And here is when a collection of odd coincedences happened. We randomly decided to go to the cinema, then decided on Odeon cos of the free parking, went to get our tickets but had no cash and their card machines were acting up. So we wonder out to get cash and just happen to see Ade walking towards us! Had a quick catch up chat and then later went to his till to get in alot cheaper ;) (thanks Ade!!)
Beowolf was wierd! Mainly cos it was a 3D one with glasses, this meaning that the direction was all things pointing at the crowd or over our heads. But very cool none-the-less!
Then I had to come home for work... But was ace weekend!
